A stunning piece of sentimental, Victorian jewellery. Very wearable, day or night.
Antique Gold Heart, Bow-Topped Pendant & Brooch
This brooch was made circa 1880. The pretty, 9ct gold (marked on the reverse, along with the maker's mark A.I.) border surrounds a central, brown-striped stone or pebble and is surmounted by a gold bow. In the Victorian era, jewellery was made using a variety of materials. This brooch is a perfect example of this. Pebble jewellery was popular in England in the 1880's among the new money classes, who liked to bring back momentos from their holidays and travels.
The brooch is 3.5cm in length and 2.2cm wide
In good antique condition with very slight scratches on the pebble surface – wear typical with age
